Tracy, WOOOHOOO on the Beacon!!!! I'm so happy for you. Wonderful news, indeed.
As for your rant - oh, I am SO totally in agreement. I am constantly floored by some of the obnoxious things people will do to try to push their sales. I'll never forget what one friend said after getting stuck sitting beside one of THOSE for a couple of hours: "Wow, she really believes her own press, doesn't she?"
How's the proposal coming? Are you making it through chapter 3?
Thanks, Chris! And a couple of hours? Ouch. You must've gotten caught during a meal--that's the worst.
The proposal is stuck. Maggie and I came down with Jose's plague Friday afternoon and have been lying on tne couch moaning and watching the Muppet Show on DVD ever since. (BTW, why was Sandy Duncan ever famous? She's AWFUL!)
Do NOT watch Sandy Duncan. EVER. Even if you start in good health, you'll be sick by the time it's over. She was on some of the first Barney episodes, too. YECH YECH YECH.
However, the rest of the Muppet Show is most excellent therapy, so hopefully that should counter the SD effect.
Congratulations on the Beacon final, Tracy. HOUSE OF SECRETS was the first book of yours I read. I loved it. Raved about it to my friends and then went out and bought everything else you've written. It deserves the award--I hope you win it.
Chris, Connie Stevens was no prize either. Yech. The premiere episode has a ballet dancer named Juliet Prowse who blows them both away. Then again, I think Maggie could host the Muppet Show and blow them both away....
Thanks so much, Paula. What a nice thing to say!
